Wow, am I the only one who is completely shocked that it’s 2018? Last year was so polarizing on so many levels. For me, it was filled with the highest highs and lowest lows. It was a year of massive growth personally and professionally, but also the year I lost my grandparents, who were an integral part of who I am today. B and I’s engagement at Disneyworld was obviously a high and now wedding planning is in full swing. (B gave me a rule that I was only allowed to discuss wedding details with him every other day. So far, so good, but I make no promises for the future.)

In October, I found out that I had a large amount of PTO to use by the end of the year and took that opportunity to completely recharge and reset. We spent time in Lake Tahoe and Marin with family, and just took time away from my normally hectic schedule. I barely picked up a computer the entire time I was gone, which was AMAZING, although I’m not sure if the size of my inbox when I returned was totally worth it. For the first couple days I actually struggled with what to do. Without work or assignments due, how was I supposed to spend my time?

This upcoming year will be another busy one, but I am learning that things will never really slow down. As I work on my Master’s degree, continue growing professionally, and embark on wedding planning activities there are so many things to look forward to. Thanks for following along and welcome to 2018!
